COMSYS HACKATHON

Join the COMSYS_Hackathon-1: Unleash Your Machine Learning Prowess!

Are you passionate about exploring the frontiers of machine learning and data science? Do you thrive on challenges that push the boundaries of your analytical and problem- solving skills? If so, the COMSYS_Hackathon-1, organized by COMSYS Educational Trust, Kolkata, and conducted by Codeclub Jadavpur University, Kolkata, is the ultimate platform for you to showcase your expertise and innovative thinking. This will be a hybrid event – the first round is online and second round is offline. The venue for the offline event is at IIT-Mandi, and it will be a part of the 4th International Conference on Frontiers in Computing and Systems (COMSYS-2023).

About the Conference

COMSYS-2023 is set to take place from the 16th - 17th of October, 2023, at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, India. Jointly organized by the School of Computing and Electrical Engineering (SCEE) and COMSYS Educational Society, Kolkata, at IIT Mandi, the conference is designed to be a melting pot of cutting-edge research and breakthroughs in the realm of computing and systems. This year’s theme, “Cyber-physical Systems for Real-life Applications,” will delve into various tracks such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning & Data Science, Devices, Circuits and Systems, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Communication Networks, Cloud Computing, Security, and IoT, and Image, Video, and Signal Processing.

COMSYS_Hackathon-1:

As a proud component of the COMSYS-2023 conference, COMSYS_Hackathon-1 promises to be an exhilarating journey through the world of machine learning and data science. This exciting competition is divided into two rounds designed to challenge your skills and creativity.

Round 1 (Online):

In this round, you’ll have the chance to prove your prowess in two distinct tracks:

  1. Text Classification: Put your natural language processing skills to the test by developing models that can accurately classify text documents into predefined categories.
  2. Regression: Have you ever wondered how football managers and club owners decide how much they should be willing to spend on players in such an inflated market? Showcase your ability to build predictive models by mastering the art of regression analysis.

Round 2 (On-site Presentation Round):

The top participants from Round 1 will move on to the intense on-site presentation round, where they’ll tackle the intricate world of Time Series Analysis. Delve into the nuances of time-dependent data and unravel patterns that can guide future predictions.

Prize:

Your hard work and dedication won’t go unnoticed. We’re offering substantial cash prizes for the winners:

  1. 1st Place: Rs. 12,000
  2. 2nd Place: Rs. 9,000
  3. 3rd Place: Rs. 6,000

For those who perform exceptionally but narrowly miss the top three spots, we have Consolation Prizes of Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 1,000 for the 4th and 5th places, respectively.

Eligibility:

COMSYS_Hackathon-1 is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students associated with any college. Whether you’re an aspiring data scientist or a seasoned machine learning enthusiast, this is your chance to shine and prove your mettle on a grand stage.
